Wallace Falls State Park, WA!
All photos taken by me.
(Just thought I 'd throw that in) : )
One of my favorite places to hike is Wallace Falls State Park, just outside
of Gold Bar, WA. Trails meander throughout the park and some lead to the lower,
middle and upper falls. Other trails lead to Wallace Lake and beyond.
The part of the trail in these pictures was formerly a railroad grade.
After about 1/4 mile of open sky, this is the beginning of the woods.
Just after I took this picture, two people pointed out to me that I had
missed seeing a deer. Oh well...
Further up the trail. Many of the trees have layers of moss on
the trunk and branches.
More trail.
About 2 miles into the trail is the lower falls, seen in these two pictures.
There is sheltered picnic area, too.
This is the the upper and middle falls, as seen from the middle falls.
I've been up to the upper falls viewpoint, but didn't venture up there this trip.
Lots of moss-covered trees and underbrush.
Heading back from the falls, more of the leaf-covered railroad grade trail.
